I was driving down the highway just at a crusing speed.... there was a clunk and my clutch pedal dropped to the floor with no pressure what so ever(the pedal was not pushed in and my foot wasent even on it)......Im wondering what could be wrong.....would the master or slave cylinder just go out like that? anything I should check first? Also ive been having some pedal pressure consistency issues lately...some times when driving it will shift smoothly and then other times barely go into gear......this makes me think its the master cylinder
thanks

did you pull the rubber boot back on the slave? if not check thats the easiest thing mine just went bad. if theres fluid then its time to replace i had the same prob.then check under the dash and check teh master boot also for fluid.

I just found the problem......it looks like the slave cylinder over extended or something and the rod came out of the boot.....then the long metal piece that goes from the slave rod up into the tranny broke off about in the middle.....do I have to pull the tranny out to fix this?

awesome...............does anyone know what this part is called so I can order a new one? or maybe just get it welded?

Wow! I just had the same thing happen to me no more than 3 hours ago. My car has been running great for 2 years so I guess statistically something was bound to break sooner rather than later.:dsm: I would also like to thank you guys for the answers you gave the OP. Now I have an idea of where to start looking.:thumb:
