[RESOLVED] exessive crankcase presure

Ok i have been having some problems lately with my oil caps. They keep leaking i have replaced the cap 4 times already. I also replaced the pcv too. Well my motor is fairly new it has about 2200 miles on it and my mods are in my profile. Well i was talking to my buddy at the local performance shop. He told me that the rings might not of seated correctly. Which would cause excessive pressure out of the top end. Is this true?

Dsm pcv valves are generally not good. Any kind you get at advance autozone, etc. is probably not good out of the box. Even oem pcv either are not good or fail after a short amount of miles. Your best bet with the pcv is to put a check valve inline after the pcv. The thread "stupid pcv question" has a wealth of info on the topic. Also how do you have your valve cover breather hooked up?

Well i have been talking to the guys on the local forums and everyone is telling me that my rings probably didnt seat and probaly wont but im going to do a compression test and a leak down test ill keep everyone updated.

How hard are you getting on it?
How much oil are you using?
Are you showing any smoke?
What kind of replacement cap are you using?
What valve cover is on the engine?
