Would a 99 gst starter fir a 96 awd talon?
I think it wont fit, because the flywheel is smaller on the AWD, but I just want to make sure.,...

Thank You

Im not just gonna go say no, but im 99% sure it wont.

Size of the flywheels are different.
the starter will not reach the teeth of the FWD flywheel.

as far as i remember all AWD swaps are done with new flywheel and starter from the doner car.

Starter should be the same for all years and models. It's the starter plate that changes things.

Mentor Mitusbishi did give me 2 diffrent model numbers for a gst and a gsx, but also the model number for a Gst spyder is diffrant than a gst hard top!

Does any one know for sure?

My cars is doing a swap. The starter doesnt fit. Anyway, i got a question to ask too. I bought a 95tsi awd motor with no starter and going to do a swap into 98gst. The first i thought i could use the starter from my current gst motor, but it came out to be too small. I replaced the awd flywheel with fwd flywheel, and had the motor mounted in engine bay. The only thing left is the starter. Does anyone know which starter should i get to start up the car? Please Help!
