I have a 98 GSX with a Greddy BOV. I have absolutely no BOV sounds at all. I just bought the car about a month ago and the guy has the BOV mounted upside down because he mounted it right side up it would hit the hood. He also has it vented to the atmosphere. Here are some pictures. I'm thinking about buying a new IC pipe and mounted it right side up and reconnecting it to the intake. Any feedback would be great.

If you mount it on top then it will hit your hood but I have seen plenty of these mounted on bottom with no problems. If you have no sound than you probably have no pressure which means boost leak. Have you checked?

No I haven't tried yet. If there is a boost leak this would also effect my boost gauge too right? Like if it was all hooked up but not reading any boost or just a little?

i would first go buy a real boost gauge, autometer or similar brand. See what kind of boost you are running, and come back in a day or so and let us know so we can help you better.

Also the Greddy's have an adjustment screw on top of them, you might want to see if you can get us a picture of that as well.

Yeah I'll see if I can get to checking for boost leaks and get that intake back connected to the BOV.

if your reading only 5 pounds it could be a boost leak. I also wonder if the screw fell off on the greddy where you can adjust it and leaking boost from the valve. That is possible right. Try taking it off and looking at it and put it back on. a boost leak can come from the BOV itself. Good luck in the cold.

Yeah but if he's only boosting 5 lbs then something is wrong. Can you even tell when you're hitting boost? Definately go hook up a leak tester and let us know what you find. You can find the boost leak tester on vfaq, it should only cost you around $20. So it shouldn't be too bad, if you're only getting 5 lbs I doubt you'd be able to hear it blow off. Check the greddy BOV and see if the screw is there and adjusted properly, you should be able to find a manual on it if you search google to find the original position of the screw. 1st check the BOV, 2nd check for leaks. Good luck
