my car had been sitting for a while because some some blown gaskets and i just didnt have the time to fix it till now the car sat for about 4 months and now i just replaced the gaskets, new plug, wires, oil and also a new aeromotive fpr. and the car was running fine untill a few block down i was going slow got on the clutch and it was stuck at 2500 rpm even in neutral. pulled over checked the idle screw and the plug for the tps it was fine. i turned the car off then bck on it went back to normal. went home took the car out the next night ran fine untill the car was hot the it got stuck again turning it off did not work and now not only was it stuck but it would keep going up all the way to 4000rpm after the car cooled down it was fine again.... any one got any ideas??? i checked all the vac its fine..:mad::mad::mad:
 
make sure your throttle cable snt getting caught up.... it was hapening on my brothers mr2... acting like the same way... weird cause i dont know what shutting the vehicle down would benefit it at all... but more than likely the isc or tps
 
It doesn't sound like a vacuum leak, really. Check the ISC like was said. Try unplugging the battery for a while. An oldsmobile I once had started idling at about 1700 when it was hot, 1000 when cold, It was like backwards cold idle. It turned out to be just a burp in the ECM. I unplugged the battery for about 30 minutes, plugged it in, never had a problem again. Worth a shot...
