The back plate or backing plate that goes behind the crank sprocket is bent up and eating my timing belt. I need a new one but have not quite found the exact proper name for this thing. The searches I've done reveal that at least 2 people have replaced theirs or even had them on backwards. I've scrutinized the parts diagram in the tech section (timing belt replacement instructions) but can't seem to spot that plate in there. Its often referred to as back plate or backing plate. Seem to find reference to it more in searches on "crank sprocket" than back plate.
Any info on this plate in regards to mitsubishi part number, proper name, or a place that has them for sale online would be appreciated. Thanks.
