Ok so my mass air flow sensor is bad in my 98 eclipse spyder gs. (which has the 4g64) My question is, can i use one from a 420a motor? Where can i get one for my car besides the dealer, and how hard difficult is the installation process?

No you cannot use one from the 420a engine, for it is a Chrysler motor. Also, the 420a's do not use the mas system, they work off of speed density.

You can, however, use a mas from a 4G63 turbo. :)

eBay Motors: 95-99 Eclipse / Talon Turbo MAFS MAF MAS OEM (item 180191545823 end time Dec-15-07 12:03:11 PST)

edit: installation is stupid easy. Just unplug the one in the car, and loosen the clamp on the backside holding it to the black rubber pipe. There are four bolts holding it the black box on the other side of the pipe. The new one goes in with the same bolts, and the same clamp on the pipe. Just be sure to not get too excited and forget to plug it in ;)

It also wouldn't be a bad idea to disconnect the battery when doing this so the ecu can program itself to the new mas.

I dunno who the answer man is, but he's probably out to make money. A brand new MAF is going to be $$, but used 2g MAF's are easy to find in the classifieds.
