1992 motor swap into 1991

As title says. Can i swap out my 92 talon tsi awd motor and put it in a 91 tsi awd? i found a car but the owner doesnt know what is wrong with the engine. My body is in bad shape plus i like red LOL. Quick but helpful replies will be greatly apperciated. I searched but i guess i dont really know how to use it that well. thanks again. Ryan

Yes, there should be no issues. Keep in mind that there is a difference between the early 1992.5 and late 1992.5+ models. The early 1992 motors are still 6 bolt while the later years are 7 bolt. Other than that, it should be exactly the same.
 
Can't see why not. If the 92 happens to be a 7bolt just make sure you use all the 7bolt flywheel clutch and pressure plate, If 6bolt bolt it and go.
 
The only diference in the clutch area between a 6 bolt and a 7 bolt would be the flywheel. The clutch and pressure plate are the same for all turbo eclipses from 90 to 99.
