I've adjusted all the slack out of the cable, but if I press the go pedal all the way down, I still can rotate the throttle body father... has my cable stretched? Is there some other place to adjust that I don't know about?

BTW, It is a Cruise Control Cable.

Step 3: Verify that WOT is 100%
With the car turned off, have someone sit in the car and floor the gas pedal, and then check to see if you can rotate the throttle plate any more by hand. If you can, it could be due to the cable being out of adjustment (adjust on the back of the intake manifold, 2 bolts) or something like a floor mat keeping the pedal from going all the way down. Fix this.

Just because you adjusted all the tension out of the line doesn't mean that you adjusted it to open all the way. Adjust the cable using the 2 bolts on the intake manifold. Have somebody press down on the gas pedal, then adjust the cable and tighten the bolts back down. Check again and adjust as necessary.

Wait.... do you adjust the cable in the 0% position, or the 100% position?

Adjust it to 100%. Have somebody depress the gas pedal all the way, then adjust the cable so that the throttle body plate is fully open.

Just make sure your regular throttle cable is adjusted properly first before adjusting your cruise cable. This will make things accurate when you have someone press your pedal down and you adjust the cruise cable.

As far as I know, you shouldn't have to adjust any cable other than the throttle cable (the one that bolts to the back of the intake manifold). Just follow the steps we've told you and you should be fine.

Then thats what I was doing wrong. I misunderstood, and was adjusting at the 0% position. Can anyone tell, I'm a DSM n00b? :)

We all have to start out somewhere.
Well, ran into another issue. Had the gas 100%, adjusted so the throttle cable is opening up the plate to 100%. Now, when the gas is depressed, it's idling at about 3500rpms. Is there any way to adjust the throttle plate? Will the BISS fix this, or does it not have the ability to fine tune that much?

It sounds like the throttle plate isn't shutting all the way now at idle. Try adjusting the throttle cable some more, as I think it is possible to tighten it too far.

You can adjust the cable for 0% then cut away the carpet directly behind the gas pedal, you can push the pedal another 1/2" down with the carpet and underpadding gone. After that adjust for 100% and slack it back till you get the desired idle.

Yes, that would work. My problem is I assume that at one point in time the car could go from 0% to 100% without problem. I don't want to bandaid the situation by just setting it so it's "close", I'd like to find out if I can adjust the throttle plate to where it's closed at 0%, and all the way open at 100%

If it makes it easier when adjusting the cable, take off the the uicp and tb elbow so that you can see the plate inside the tb moving. This way you can see how close you are to getting it fully closed and fully open.
Does the BISS actually affect the throttle plate?

Here is how to adjust the biss. You can give it a shot, but I don't think it will adjust far enough to solve your problem. This isn't exactly a scientific method, but just keep trying to adjust the cable and you should be able to figure it out.

Maybe it isn't this simple but...it sounds to me like you overtightened your cruise cables at the bell crank and then adjust your intake bracket so the throttle would fully open. Your cruise cables are too tight and holding your throttle open at the bell crank. If the cc cables are too tight, they pull on the bell crank which pulls on your main throttle cable. Leave your main throttle cable alone and loosen the other two cc cables and see what happens.

I didn't think about that.... I have no idea about what has been done to the car before... I recently bought it, and am trying to sort stuff out. I'll have to give this a shot though.

How much slack in the throttle cable are you supposed to have at 0%WOT? Is it supposed to be tight like a an alternator belt or what?

I already adjusted for 100%WOT but is seems like it's loose at 0%

Where is it loose for you?

It shouldn't be loose anywhere though. It should taught all the time. The only difference you should have is that after adjusting for 100% WOT, you shouldn't be able to rotate the throttle plate any more.

It's loose from where it bolts up to the manifold to where it locks into place on the throttle plate. I mean it's not sagging like crap but it's not tight either.
