Ive been into DSMs for awhile now , not a noob but thought this would be a good place to post this. This is my first AWD 2G dsm , and its auto ( gotta love 15psi launches:D ) and im stuck on what to do next to the car. im a " all-go " type of person. so far i have done:

Full 3" back exhaust
Metal Intake pipe
Hard Uppipe
1st gen BOV ( yes its recirulated )
Apexi SAFC ( tuned by wideband )
Hallman MBC set @ 16psi
Breather Filter (not really a mod)
Megan Boost & AFR gauges
New lowprofile Hankook tires.

I was thinking about buying one of those SSAC Front mount kits, my buddy has one , and it installed pretty easy and works well.

I have about $400-$500 to throw at the DSM this payday and was maybe wondering if someone could suggest something other than the FMIC. i like to know that my money gets well spent on useful parts. I plan on going T3/T4 in the future and possibly running ethanol.

Any Ideas / Suggestions guys ??

Are you just looking for more power? You could upgrade the suspension too.

The fmic is a nice upgrade, but don't forget about fuel too - fuel pump, injectors, and afpr. Depending on how big of injectors you want to get, you may be limited by the safc.

other than the front mount I would suggest finishing any matinance that needs to be done or will need to be done soon and after that work on your fuel, get an afpr, upgraded fuel pump and you have the wideband.... then work on making more power reliably... and i highly suggest matainence again since I cannot say how unreliable my car was at first when i bought it and got it running, even with doing the right things

Im basically looking for more power......must go faster LOL

My suspension is in pretty good shape. the shocks are new and it rides and handles well. even tho i would like to add a set of TEIN springs to it.

Im very good on my maintenance.

Just replaced :
Timing belt
Full trans rebuild + new TQ converter
o2 sensor
plugs & wires
Radiator (neck cracked)
Replaced almost all of my vaccum lines
and everything else is in great shape.

and NO boost leaks ! Yesssss !

I know the fuel upgrades would be very useful in the future, but how about now ?

If you go with the FMIC you will beable to push more boost. But then there is your problem you will be low on fuel. The SSAC intercooler kit is very cheap. You could get a the fmic, injectors and a fuel pump for $500 but then you would need a afpr for the 255lph. Or run a 190lph with no problem.

If you have SAFC already, getting fuel upgrades and a logger will let you turn up the boost on the 14b. I'm not sure which of the three - intercooling (prevent knock), fuel (prevent lean condition), or airflow (hit fuel cut) get in your way first on a 14b as you turn up the boost. But the fuel upgrades I suggested will help with the last two. You could then go up in boost until your logger shows knock without worrying about leaning out or hitting fuel cut (and the only reason you dodge fuel cut is because SAFC lies to the ECU about airflow to accomodate the larger injectors). But I don't have any experience with the 14b.

Dude , read my first post. the car is a 97 talon..... i cant get the damn thing to change what car i own LOL.

Figured it out , it wouldnt let me me do it before?

anyways , back to whats next for teh ride.

My suggestion is to start buying and stashing some parts to install this spring.

I have a 96 eclipse gst:
Full 3" exhaust
evo 16g
2.5" TAB Fabrication Tubular o2 housing with external dump and 38mm external gate
SSAC FMIC (love it)
Bomz Intake
1g bov
walboro 255
Profec B Electronic Boost controller

I would think about doing something to that route. I'm Automatic as well and my car pulls just great. I do have issues with fuel cut right now. So im looking into getting injectors and DSMLINK.

I would definately suggest the SSAC FMIC and an EVO 3. It flows great and with your stock converter you will definately be able to launch with plenty of boost. Then again this all depends on what your looking for. I just want a decently damn quick street car, something faster than most cars, not a race car. Pulls fantastic and is faster than almost any car you will come up against. I still get 25mpg as well in the city. (when I keep my foot out of the gas)

Ordered the SSAC 2G FMIC kit today from trendy auto was $290.99 after shipping. about $30 cheaper than others. best of all its coming from cali , so ill get it within next week sometime.

I figured it could only help any modding i would do in the future.

Yea of course..... short route FTW...

i hope its not too laggy......

Trust me its not. Ive run this kit for quite awhile and so does my cousin. Absolutely love it. Im sure you will love it too. Make sure you mount it using the two side tabs. I made the mistake of using just the top middle one and it broke. Use the side tabs and it is sturdy as hell. Where you cut out for the pipe to go up to the throttle body. You have to trim around the radiator. Try and find some rubber of some sort like weatherstripping to put around the jagged metal. That way you dont cut up silicone couplers. Had that issue and kept having boost leaks. I bet you can't wait for it to arrive. Have fun!

Just make sure you at least go with a 14b at least. The SSAC FMIC is a fair size but way too big for the tiny power of the T-25. T-25 will have more lag than what you have now, with that FMIC on there.
