A couple weeks ago I explained my issue with my dash lights coming on, windows not working and car dying slowly like it was only running off the alternator. So I went and tested on of them and it was bad, so I put a brand new one in. Car seems to running fine, however, windows, door locks still don't work. As well as the interior lights. When i close the door the battery light flickers in the dash and when I turn on the headlights the horn goes off till I turn off the car. Oh, and the blower for the heater/ac doesn't work as well. I checked all the fuses and some of the grounds :beatentodeath: Any suggestions?

True, I am going to test the battery. But why would my sunroof work and not the windows? The battery is about a year and half old, but I killed a bunch due to the alternator.

After I charged the battery, let it sit for a day, it started fine with the new alternator.

Check your ignition fuse and alternator relay first. If the fuse/relay is good, I would say your battery is bad (or at least extremely drained) and that your alternator possibly went as well. Generally when your battery is low or dead it will not start but can be jumped. If your car died while you were driving it, your alternator could possibly be bad but it can also mean that battery was sucked dry to the point that the charging system could no longer power the car via the alternator to the dying/dead battery.

Take your battery out and bring it to Advance Auto Parts or Autozone and have them do a load test on it (they do it free). From there they can determine if your battery is totally gone or if it just needs charging. Replace or recharge the battery, put it in your car, and fire it up. It should start. If it doesnt start..alternator. Drive it to Advance/Autozone and have them load test your alternator and see how much voltage it is putting out. If your alternator is not putting out at least 13.XX-14.XX volts then it is not charging the battery (around 12 volts) like it should, thus making the battery hard to start, and eventually making the car die while driving.

*If you put in a new battery or recharge the old one and the alternator is bad or going bad, it will kill the new or recharged battery! Like I said, get the alternator tested as well.

*Note* Always charge the battery or replace a battery before installing a new alternator. Likewise, installing an alternator with a low or dead battery will put extra strain on the alternator to recharge the battery and can possibly kill your new alternator.

Thanks for all the insight fellows. The alternator fuse was the culprit, it didn't look blown because it wasn't completely broken through. But the GSX is back on the road!!
