I have an Eagle Talon TSi AWD 4G63. I have an oil leak. Of course. It looks like its leaking from the line that runs from the turbo to the oil pan. I don't know if it is or not, but I need to know if it is a common problem and where I could get a new line. PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks!
Calvin

If its not the line itself thats leaking but rather where it bolts up, Just unblot and then put gasket sealant on both ends, should stop it from leaking.

I actually just did that when i put the new turbo in. I think it actually may be the valve cover gasket. I have a new one in there but i think i have stripped bolts and now i need to use a heating coil. thanks for the help. im working on it right now.

Mine leaks right where the little ribbed flex piece is and where it bolts to the oil pan.Im in the process of fixing it right now.

I am having problems with my oil return line, its on a 94 tsi and there is smoking coming from that general area,, the turbo spools fine and everything, i am wondering is the oil from my leaky oil return getttin burned causing smoke,

help me out.

Yes. If you are leaking oil anywhere in that area, especially the gasket where the return line bolts to the oil pan....it will smoke. Reason is, the drips of oil land directly onto the downpipe. This I just fixed on my car. Now, if its smoking out of your exhaust, and it's a grayish white color...check your valve stem seals. Try repairing the return line gasket first.

Good luck. Let us know when you fix it and what was wrong.

Its Heli-coil :)

ROFL I was trying to figure out what the heating coil was for. I wouldn't recommend a stock replacement drain pipe if that is indeed the problem. It is much to stiff and prone to breakage. Either go pushlock/stainless with the appropriate adapters or weld a bung on the pan and use brass fittings or a combination of the two. You could also leak from this location and never notice it as the cooling fans and airflow tend to blow the oil along the bottom of the car.

I can't say it enough, make sure you use those thin metal washers on the return bolts. Definitely get new ones if installing a new OEM or FP style return.
