i believe that there is something wrong with my maf because sometimes my car runs funny and the idle acts up and wiggling the connector and tapping the sensor usually clears the problems up. so my question is should i replace the maf with a stock one or go to the gm maft?? im not trying to make the car a race car because it is a daily driver. but i am doing some performance work ( and id like to vent to the atmosphere). but is it cost effective for someone that isnt looking for crazy 1/4 times compared to buying a stock maf?? just wondering thanks for the help.

first I would find out if it is the maf that is your problem for sure. I had a maft in my supra and hated it. Its hit and miss with those things on dsm's though as far as being able to tune it. I know when its time for me to mod my car more, im getting dsmlink.

IF it was bad or unhooked you should throw a check engine light. I still have mine and the plug that goes to it with about 8'' of wire pigtailed off it. If i can find it and you need it, let me know, we'll work out something fair. But try and make sure that's your problem first. Can you get a diagnostic run on it at the autoparts store for free? OR do you have a logger/scan tool?
