I've posted in my last thread that I have a 2.0 N/T with nothing on but new intake pipe & filter looking at making some mods to the exhaust system, and I'm wondering weather or not to start with the manifold or just get a new muffler, the pipes and cat converter are in pretty decent shape considering the 119k on the car and I've been feeling that sexy look of those 3.5" mufflers kind of poking out of the side...
Its all still in the works for me and if anybody would like to offer pointers, I'm all ears.

i had a 93 laser nt as my first DSM. i bought a header off Ebay and then got a 2.5in exhaust from there back, no cat. it made a world of difference. still slow though. i had cams from a turbo head, throttlebody spacer, intake and open filter, no powersteering, no A/C, Balance Shafts eliminated. i couldn'e even beat stock B16 civics. don't expect any big horsepower gains from a non turbo 4g63 but you can still have fun with it

I think that no matter what car, an exhaust always does wonders for the driving experience. Makes a car more fun to drive and it is fun and easy to install.

I say throw an exhaust on that bi***, a short shifter and some suspension mods and call that n/a done. That is the true way to get enjoyment out of an NA.

Oddly enough I do agree. I've owned and drove a 1G manual NT for about a year and a half and it wasn't exactly a rocket ship. If you must mod the thing an intake and catback exhaust would seemingly add a bit more pep to the ride while giving the owner a feeling of accomplishment. I suppose the only thing worth mentioning is how far you'd really want to take the NT. For some fun without breaking the bank a catback exhaust and a short shifter certainly would increase the level of fun (and noise level).

I was kind of hoping to keep this NA about as good as it'll get performance wise until I get out of school and then dumping a 4g63t in it. But theres some things that interest me about doing that swap and since I'm here and don't want to crowd the threads I might as well ask them in here. If I didn't swap trannys would it make any difference at all or would I have to mess with the ECU? And, Would the tranny from the 4g63NA bolt up evenly and not give me any grief? I remember the tranny swap I did for my s13 and it about killed me that the bolts weren't but a hair out of line. Oh well guess Nissan got some more money out of me on that deal.

Somebody up there suggested suspension mods. Like what?
I haven't had much expiereince (sp) with Mitsubishi cars other than my 3000GT but that was fun from the get go.
I'm wondering how much a ruff estimate would be for max hp and possibly ftlbtq I can get out of the NT until like I said I can get this school thing out of the way.
Thanks

Never mind those questions about the engine swap, upon further reading from blackspo0ln's link I figured out that ECU would be problem causing.
But I do have another question
Since the 4g63NA has higher compression is it okay to use regular gasoline rather than high test fuel?
I've had my eyebrows raised at this
