Which Walbro

My girlfriend's stock fuel pump just went out on her 99 Eclipse GS. I went to Autozone and they want $139 for a replacement, but I noticed that I can get a Walbro + install kit for almost half of that (but I would have to wait for shipping). If I decided to go with a Walbro, which one would be the right choice for the application. Goals for the car don't include a turbo install anytime soon, but maybe someday down the line. Currently the car is stock, but I will be installing a new Intake / High flow cat for Christmas. Other than exhaust, there isn't too much else that I plan to do to the car.

So which pump would be the best choice? 190/190HP/255/255HP?

I would say the 190 since there's no real high hp goals in the near future. And rewire it.

Not sure but with that amount of hp, wouldnt you be runnning rich if you put a 255 in it?

Either 190 pump will do fine for your NA DSM. I can understand why you're wanting to get the cheaper/better peforming pump, but all you're doing is forcing the car to run richer than what it is already.

You deffenitly don't need the high pressure pumps because its a non-turbo car and if you want to put a turbo in it sometimes soon now its the time to make up your mind. Good Luck.

This is a 420A car, and from what I understand there is no overrun with those fuel pressure regulators, so it will not run rich at all. A 255 is overkill for most anything you could do without putting on a turbo.

He could run a 255/255HP if he chose, with the only side effect being the whine. As stated above, with no high HP goals in the future, I would go with the 190, rewired. Cheaper than OEM, but quieter than a 255.
