vented o2 poping?

Im just curious. I set up my boost to 16psi and took it for a spin, and now its roaring and poping at full boost. when it was running 12 psi, at full boost i would just hear a roar.

oh, and i just added a greddy type-s bov.

Why is that? sounds more meaner.

I'm not quite sure whqt you are asking here. Are you venting the bov to the atmosphere or did you get a dumped o2 housing. And is the popping coming while you are under wot?

Are you using a tubular o2 housing with a dump tube for the internal gate. If so maybe your flapper isn't fully closed when cruising or maybe you have a crack and your leaking exhaust gases. If your talking about the sound it makes when you're in WOT then thats normal, its the same sound you get from going external.

Turn the boost back down to 12psi and see if it sounds like it used to. If it still sounds different at 12psi than it did before, I'd suspect that you introduced a boost leak when you switched the BOV, are running rich (and burning excess fuel in the exhaust manifold) and should do a boost leak test.
