EVO 8 TB on a 2G??

I have no idea about the Evo 8. Are you trying to run one because you're getting if for cheap?

You could always run a 1g throttle body. Your stock one is 52mm, the 1g is either 60mm or 63mm, and they're cheap as hell. All you have do is switch your sensors over, and port out your intake manifold's flange to match the bigger size.

i already run a 1g on my 2g and i have already cut out the manifold to match up to the TB. i just want to know really if i can bolt it up and if i would gain anything doin it.. and yes i can get one for cheap :)

I can't find anything on it. I can't find the body size or bolt pattern. I guess if you can get your hands on it, you might be the first ever to do it. If you can look it over without buying it, make sure the bolt pattern is right. Then the cable will have to attatch, the TPS, etc. I guess it's only worth the trouble if it's noticeably bigger. I know when you put the 1g throttle body on, you have to switch your 2g TPS over to it. I'm going to be running a 1g N/T throttle body pretty soon here.

BTW, if you remove whatever ISC/FIAV it has, DSMLink can simulate your idle controls.

I wouldn't even worrie about it man. The 1g throtle has proven it's self over and over to make power. You have the original power maker, stick with it.

Keep in mind that since the EVO engine has the opposite orientation of ours you will be flipping the TB around. If the throttle cable lever is on the firewall side like ours then that will put it on the opposite side when you flip it. The water pipes will also face the firewall possibly creating some clearance issues. Additionally, there may not be enough room for the ISC due to the TB elbow.

All this is speculation since I have never seen the EVO TB up close, but just things to consider.

The Evo 8 TB is 60mm. And from the looks of it, it just may work if the bolt pattern is the same. Also, when you think about it, whats the difference between the Evo8 TB and the 1G NT TB? The Evo8 TB uses a half shaft which helps a tiny bit with air flow, but not enough to feel a difference. On this link you can compare the different TB's to the Evo8 TB. DSM THrottle Bodys Also, if you search on google you can find a few other ppl swapping the Evo8 TB onto different cars.
