I have a 95 Eagle Talon TSi (automatic)
Mods: evoIII 16g, full exhaust 2.5, injen air intake, SSAC FMIC, 1g bov, MBC

i have been looking into cams for my car, that's after i get ECU+ which will be in the near future, I was told that cams would decrease my performance on my automatic? and i would run lower ETs in the 1/4? is this true?

also what would be the best cam setup? I do plan on changing this turbo out to maybe a HX35/40 later on down the road

264/264 is very streetable and 272/272 are gonna help a little in the quarter but with that turbo you are gonna hit a brick wall at around 7200. I would say get the 272/272 if you plan on upgrading the turbo sometime soon. You can keep the stock valvetrain and won't hurt driveability. As far as decreasing your performance, never heard of an upgrade hurting your car just because it was an automatic.

Thanks for the response :D

I've heard good things about the 264/272s?

what would u all suggest for my basic setup? i don't want to hit that brick wall...the turbo will be changed next year around winter, i can always buy bigger cams...

I say that because my friend has the same setup, EVO 3 with 272/272. Was a great setup but the EVO 3 can't flow enough on the topend to take advantage of the cams. I would just opt for the 272 combo because they will be good for the bigger turbo as well without having to upgrade springs.

Automatic DSMs have only four speeds so they need cams designed for a wider RPM range than manuals. That's why the 1G autos had lower HP and peak torque at a lower RPM.

"Best" cams depends on where you want the car to work best. I went with 264/264 because my car is a daily driver and my goals where the ultimate street DSM.

If you want lower ETs in the 1/4 mile then go for the more aggressive cams and a high stall torque converter to get the engine up into the power band quicker.
