Before you drop the transmission just yet, take off the rubber piece and look up in there to see what you can find out.

If it smells like a skunk its gear oil...maybe a crack in the housing, not sealing properly etc. I have never witnessed an input shaft leak, but it's possible.
If its hydrolic fluid it's the clutch slave cylinder. Did you blead it properly by depressing the nipple on the cylinder? Is it a new part...or a rebuild kit?
If its motor oil and its coming out of the boot around the release fork then its your rear main seal that you can get to by removing the tranny once more.
Hope this helps!

Also, look at the boot/seal where the shift levers enter the transmission. Mine leaked like crazy and ran down the front of the trans, covering th inspection boot and getting all over everything. From what I understand you have to take the trans apart to replace that particular seal, but you can try to coat the top of the seal (under the boot) with silicone. Search around there's some info on this (*IF* it happens to be your problem)

Other than that 28-psi pretty much covered it. Good luck!

Well thanks guys .. so it could be causing my clutch to slip?
Anyways ..i will look more into it today and see if i can find anything else out.

Is the clutch toast after this mishap or is it just right now cause the leak

I GREATLY APPRECIATE THE HELP.. seriously

you may be experiencing the same problem i was when i purchased my car. i pulled the transfercase to find that the seal around the output shaft for the tranfercase was just pouring fluid into the bell housing. you can replace this seal in car but get ready for some loud cursing and hitting your head hahaha. i hope that helps. it only takes like 5 mins to pull your transfer case and it may save you some heart ache about what the problem could be. happy problem hunting

i just replaced my clutch and i did it step by step using the vfaq and other posts on dsm tuners. it took me about two weeks in my garage on jacks stands between high school, college, and my job. It would have easily taken me half that if chrysler had gotten me the right parts and my control arm bolt didnt snap. So if i were you i would replace my clutch since its probably going to be messed up by the fluid. It will make dropping the tranny seem more worth the time. when you get in there you can diagnose your problem and fix it up. Good luck.

A few years ago.......I had a input shaft seal leak on a '90 FWD and it got on a newer clutch disk. I had the seal replaced and used brake cleaner in the clutch disc to clean it up......worked fine after :thumb:

Talked to head mechanic at Gotham Racing today and he confirmed it was a rear main seal(thanks 28psi) and on top of that my water pump decided to bust everywhere today and we also found many other leaks so we are going to go ahead and do

head gasket (arp studs)
rear main seal
act 2100,xact flywheel (whole clutch kit)
crankshaft seal
water pump, timing belt, tensioner
valve cover gasket
turbo return line
oil pan reseal
camshaft seals
??? lots more seals and gaskets he named????

All this parts and labor is $2600
I get the hook ups from them...its still a lot of money though
