car ignition problem

i have recently changed out my head gasket and all of the front main seals becouse of major oil leak. now after all of that is fixed my car decides that it dose not want to work by not sparking, at first i automatically jumped to the conclusion that the powertransistor and coilpack were bad, soo went and bought a brand spankin new one for 90 bucks and still same results, then i checked the cam angle sensor with a volt/ohm meter to see if it was giving out power and it was. i figure that that dose not mean that it is opertating properly, i want to know if the 2g 7 bolt cas will work with the 1g 6 bolt. and what would be your input. im hoping that it is something real stupid, and most likly is.

The 1g cas provides a crank signal, the 2g has separate cam and crank sensors, so it will not work.

Did you get a 90 coil and PT? No other years are compatible. Check CAS like this: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238267#post50470620. Then check all the connectors for poor pin contact and ECU for leaky capacitors.

yes i have a 1990 ingnition coil. what would you think the junkyard would charge for a CAS

is it possible for the CAS to go bad while changing head gasket? like fritz out for no reason?
