I just bought a maf from the junkyard. Its a little weathered. Is it ok to take it apart and clean it and maybe remove the screen and the divider in the middle? i added two pics the one on the right is what i am tring to do.

I would say yes to take apart and clean. I did when I installed mine (as well as polishing it).

As for removing screen and divider, I would say no. Here are a few links about this topic:

I tried that with mine. Didn't work to well. Just clean it.
