Ok i have a 92 Tsi pretty much stock, ive had it since February, its been running awesome so far, but last week it started getting a very noticeable vibration, around town it drives fine and cant feel it, but i get on the highway and above 50 mph i cant speed up because it starts shaking a lot, balance shaft belt gone maybe, or could it have jumped a tooth?

I also just noticed noted today that the motor mount on top left next to the camgears is busted up the rubber is torn up, could that be it? Thanx everybody

Is it the wheel shaking or the entire car. You may need to get your wheels balanced, it should be about $40 at midas to have it done.

An out of balance tire or an out of round wheel will cause vibrations at a given speed in any gear. A balance shaft problem will cause vibrations at a given RPM in all gears.

That said the busted motor mount should be replaced.

I had an old mustang that had the same problem and the shaking scared the hell outa me when i got to going fast. i balanced the wheels and replaced a rotted mount like urs and i was fine it also need a couple u bolts. good luck

yea i would check the balance first and just look a your motor mounts if you can you should be abel to see 2 of them easy the one in the rear is a little mor difficult and the one holding the tranny your going to have to move some stuff. Is it awd could be your carrier bearings
