I recently bought a OBDII pocketlogger from digital tuning. Well heres the situation that I can not figure out. I plugged the OBDII cable into the port but it will not connect. I have a 95 gst. I know the logger setup works because I tried it on my girls jetta. I also know that my OBDII port works because I had autozone check my CEL before. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same issue. I would really appreciate finding out whats up with this. I hope i did not waste my money.:dsm:

I was looking for one and I don't know where that particular fuse is. I doesn't really explain that in the Chilton's manual.

Dose anyone know what fuse that is, or if there is a fuse for that.

Same thing happened to me. My friend has a palm and hooked it up to my car. It just sat on the connecting screen or whatever, and never did anything. He hooked it up to his and it worked right away. No idea.

You guys, I had the same issue. What you have to do is Manually adjust your timing settings. For instance you have to run the test and then after the test is completely done, bump up the timing setting for both settings.

Can you even run the byte timing function without it being connected to the car??

Also, I've got 2 different Palm m515's; one I use as my Pocketlogger and the other is a back up. One day I wanted to use the back up, because the battery was dead in my primary and the dang thang wouldn't connect. It hotsync's to my PC just fine, but for the life of it, it will not connect to my car. For the record, the registed OBDII software is a copy of the other palm's software (from when I hotsync'd). Does that make any sense at all??

Sure. I believe you can. That test is what makes your connection stronger and more consistent. It has been a while... let me check...

could you give me some more info on the byte timing values? I really want this to work. also ive heard of having to run a power wire or is that just for 1st gen? ive had codes read at advance and it works fine. im using an m100

Here is the info that I got from Mike Montalvo when I filled out a help ticket. Here is where you can fill out a help ticket (at the bottom): PocketLOGGER for OBDII - Connection Problems

Here is what I did (keep in mind this is just copied and pasted off of my conversation with him) and what I did to correct my problem:

[So now I will click RESET run the inter-pack delay test and click RUN... after 2 minutes I will click stop and bump up the 2 values for this test 5 clicks each.

After that test I will switch over to the Inter-Byte delay test and click RUN and then after 2 minutes press STOP. THEN I will bump up both values for this test 5 clicks each. After this I will click OK and then go back to the Main Pocketlogger screen.

Is all this right. I have a feeling that you are going to tell me to only bump up the values (5 clicks) after the final test and not inbetween the 2. Is this right? Thanks, and sorry]

Here is what he responded with in an answer to my question:

[when the tests are complete, and you are ready to hit "OK" to leave the timing screen, increase both values 5 clicks.]

So at the END of the tests, THEN manually increases both settings 5 clicks each.

Edit: hope that helps

I know it's not possible to even run the byte timing auto programmer if you're not connected, but it may be possible to manually configure the settings in the box below the auto programmer. I'll have to check my logger when I go out to my car after work.

wow i think i figured it out. I checked pin 16 which is the power, and wouldnt you know there is no power there with the switch on. Ill have to check the fuses in the mornin. hopefully that will solve my problem

just wanted to let everyone know i fixed the problem. all my fuses were good, but i still had no power at pin 16(connector is numbered if you look closely). so all i did was run a hotwire to pin 16 and it worked great. instantly connected.:thumb:
