So i just got a SAFC-II, do i need to get any Palm and a cord to connect them together? Also do i need to buy some sort of software with that?

Totally separate items. They do not connect to one another. The afc wires into the ECU, and the logger plugs into the OBDII port.
It's a good idea to have a logger, though, so that you can monitor what you are doing with that afc. And logger software is available online for free. Google for it. You can't use MMCD on your 2g, but Palm'n'Stein and OBDGauge are reasonably good.
