i searched the forums but couldnt find what i was looking for.

right now i have an ACT2600 clutch & stock flywheel. clutch is pretty much done for. so im ready to install my SBR4000 clutch & ACT streetlite flywheel.

as my clutch was wearing down i looked on VFAQ.com for clutch adjustments since my clutch was wearing down, so i adjusted it a bit and it helped a little bit.

my shifter is stuff and sometimes makes it hard for me to put it in gear.

now when i put the new clutch/flywheel in how do adjust the adjustment rod CORRECTLY so i dont have clutch slippage?

thats what i couldnt find on the search.

you want to make sure you dont block the small port at the end of the master cylinder when adjusting the rod. if adjusted to far, the rod will depress the piston and block the port causing a potential increased pressure within the the clutch system. this applies a constant pressure on the tob and eventually premature clutch failure (slipage, tob wear, pp wear on release springs). The way I adjust my clutch, and has always worked flaulessly, is to adjust the rod a quater turn then pump the clutch 5 times. get under the hood and try to manually slide in the slave cylinder rod. if you cannot budge it or if it is REALLY hard to move, get under the dash and turn it back that quarter turn and lock it down. if you can move it, keep adjusting under it until you have an adequate pedal release height. Just make sure you dont block off that port!!
