The roll cage that dsmparts sells the 8 point, weighs 80 pounds looks pretty solid by my god is it heavy very surprised when i tried to lift the long slender box LOL, has anybody else purchased this roll cage from dsmparts.com? if so hows installation, with fitment and what issues were encountered.

I'd love to see pictures of this!! I'm planning on getting a cage for my car but I haven't decided wheter to buy one, or have one custom made. My interior is already gutted so I'm one step closer. :) Is yours a bolt in kit or a weld in one??

It is a welded on. You need to find a certified roll cage welder or else it would be completely useless to have a roll cage and with cause problem if you really are head for to make 11 sec passes.

the over all cage weight is 100 lbs i have pictures of the strut kit which is everything but main hoop which came the next day which i dont have a picture of but here are the ones i have

and it may be a little while before it is installed because i would like to have a certified cage builder install the cage, but when its installed pictures will be taken and you will see them but over all very good deal , 274 shipped to my door and probably 100-150 to install it, (having a friend do it) everything is pre bent fits nicely in the car and everything just goes together with detailed instructions, so all he needs is a welder and probably an hour. :thumb: awesome buy! when it is installed ill probably do a parts review on it.

Just be careful when welding in the support plates. We caught by buddies Honda on fire doing his. Nothing serious but the undercoating caught fire while we were welding the plates on. If your doing it yourself (provided you can tig weld) get someone to watch the underside and keep a spray bottle handy.
