Knocking questions...

Ok, i have searched a little for my answer, but only found some. I am picking up a car tomorrow and I'm told it has knocking, so here are my questions:
Where can knocking come from?
which one the worse and if you replace that part will it happen again?
The car is 11 miles from my house and I d plan on rebuilding the engine, so can I get away with driving it home?

not really enough info, knocking how? how do they know its knocking, are they describing a sound or is it a pre detonation condition? please get more information

If it has a rod knocking I wouldnt chance driving it ANYWHERE. Its hard to tell how long it has been knocking and if they have been driving it.

Rod knock was my first guess as well. I have yet to hear audible noise from predetonation, pinging, knock, etc. The only thing I could think of that could be described as an audible "knock" is rod knock.

Definitely get it towed/on a flatbed.
