Just got a real clean 91 Laser FWD Turbo

What mods do you recomment to take it to the low 13 second zone
Don't want the car being loud
want to keep PS/ A/C and full mint interior

BTW its a automatic that shifts perfect.....even the economy and power function works perfect

A decent front mount would help, or get a supra sidemount which will keep the car looking stock and will give better flow compared to the stock sidemount. If you do go with a different intercooler might as well get hard pipes, while your at it get a 2G throttle body elbow and eliminate your cruise control, you'll get great throttle response. Don't forget about getting a good tuneup.

Get some NGKs, some good wires such as Taylors, and check if anything else needs fixing. The worst thing you can do is neglect an older car, it can be the make or break of your car. Nothing is as important as proper maintenance. Check your timing belt, if you need it replaced do yourself a favor and replace it along with the water pump that way you won't have to do it all over again. And possibly look into a good oil.

Maintenence first, then look at upgrades. Always.

That said, a 3" turboback exhaust is a good upgrade, but it isn't going to stay quiet. I'd recommend either the Megan Racing setup (what I have) for maximum flow (even with the muffler on at a ricey angle), or get one made up by your local muffler shop. Shouldn't be *too* expensive (compared to buying one), and you could grab a nice 3"->2x2.5" Magnaflow muffler to keep it looking stock, and sounding nice until you start to romp on the loud pedal.

For a FWD, you'll want solid motor mounts to help reduce wheelhop, if you're just looking to take it to the drag strip. Be aware of increased vibration, though you really do get used to it in short order.

You've got an automatic, so you have the 13g if it hasn't been upgraded. You can probably grab a used 14b off someone here and bolt it up, but it might be for the best to just jump straight to an Evo III Big 16g. Good spool time, and it'll see you down into twelves easily, with supporting mods.

Fuel. You have the same pump as the manual guys, but you're stuck with wimpy little 390cc injectors to match the 13g baby snail. Upgrade time, along with a means to control them (SAFC if you're going on the cheap, or if you have cash on hand, an EPROM ECU if you don't have one already, and DSMLink).

A datalogger cable. Vital for tuning. If you go with DSMLink, forget this. Otherwise, get one ASAP. It will become your best friend in short order.

Boost/vac gauge! Before turning up the boost, you need an ACTUAL boost gauge. Not the one in the dash cluster, which just is the ECU guessing at your boost level based on airflow/RPM.

Manual Boost Controller. Cheap, easy to make, rock solid. Could also go with a dual-stage EBC to make launching easier (less boost until you get going, to reduce launch wheelspin), but it isn't neccessary if you learn to drive the car. A standard ball-and-spring unit should serve just fine for a good long while. Remember not to tee it off of the 'BOV' vacuum line.

After that... intercooler piping, upgraded intercooler, further-upgraded fuel system... just go through the Tech articles. There are upgrade paths all laid out nicely there to help you ease into making serious power. There's no sure-fire part that you can slap on and start making big numbers, or running small ones. It just doesn't work that way. It's all about the tune...and the nut behind the wheel, of course. :D

First off welcome to the dsm scene, here is a link to show you the suggested path to achieving your horsepower goals:http://www.dsmtuners.com/sub.php?page=1gtupgrades

Please make sure that you do basic maintenance before you start modding! Be sure to check plugs, wires, belts,(TIMING),and all fluids. Compression/boost check is good too!
Good luck!
