my car is a 90 talon Tsi Awd. When I start it up it will run but hestitate at 3000rpm, the longer the car runs the higher the rpms will go before it hesitates. Ive checked for boost leaks, it has new plugs, wires, fuel filter,k/n air filter. I ve checked sparked seem good. also what is the best way to check for boost leaks.

also im getting less than 10mpg and it smokes when hesitating.

When you do the test, make sure to test the turbo inlet (where the intake connects to) and at the throttle body. The reason to do the test at the throttle body is to narrow it down to the area immediately at and after the throttle body. The smaller the area you're working with, the easier it is to track them down and fix them. This is especially helpful for the vacuum lines to the throttle body and surrounding sensors and also for the injector seals. If you just do the test from the turbo inlet, it's harder to pinpoint leaks on the other side of the system. Whenever you do the test, make sure to spray the area you're testing with soapy water. Since some really small leaks are hard to hear, they will cause the soapy water to bubble up so you can 'see' the leak.
