extreme psi afpr kit help..

so i installed my afpr with the extreme psi kit and i got to say it was pain in the ass but i finally got everything together, as soon as i started the car it started to spray gas by the fitting that goes into the fpr. i am pretty sure when i put the fitting in the braided hose i put it pretty tight and i even used a clamp so it can stay tighter, but it still sprayed all over. im getting pretty frustrated from a project that should last at leat 1 hr:mad: . can anyone please point me where i can get a braided line with the fittings on it done by the factory?
 
It sounds like your ss line is not fully seated within the AN fittings. go back and pull that line out. Then tape the end TIGHT with electrical tape. Then get a flat tipped chisel and position it perpindicular to the hose. Take a BFH and whack it as hard as you can. This method gives you a nice clean cut on any SS line.

Once you do so, take the fitting and slowly push it onto the hose ending. Then push down as hard as you can while twisting into the fitting. Using some oil usually helps too.

yeah im gona do that and try one more time, i think i used the wrong fitting here is the pic of the kit and the fittin i used is the one on the top right right next to the regulator, and i defenitly think that one is used for the return part which slides into the return hose OMG ..its my first time what can i say.LOL

Teflon tape should not be used with AN fittings.

Nothing at all should be used...


Some backround..
The "AN" in AN fittings stand for Army Navy. These peices were designed for the military to make finger tight connections W/ no leaks on there equipment.

Like blcknspo0ln mentioned, check and make sure your braided lines are seated FULLY into the fitting. When the line is fully inserted mark the line with electrical tape or somthing simalar. Then thread the threaded piece into the line and crank it down (thread it down to the point where you can just slide a dime in the gap) make sure the braided line did'nt back out by checking the tape markings.



P.S. Make sure you are taking the fittings apart and not just trying to slide the line in...

1. Please use your shift key when posting in the tech sections.

2. Definitely do not use Teflon tape.

3. The Extreme psi kit is no different than any other kit, no kit will come with hoses already on the fittings because no one can predict where you'll mount your AFPR.

No. Use painter's tape instead. Do not use eletrical tape or duct tape.

Or just get/borrow a cut off wheel instead. Much more accurate and precise IMHO. Do not do what Bob did in this guide. If you notice, I had to remind him of a few of these things, and thus the recent editing. ;)

I want to know if the fittings are reverse fittings first.

Actually, regular motor oil is highly recommended on the AN threads, like Tom said before.
 
Stop picking my post apart :mad::p

I've used electrical tape on all of my SS jobs and have been fine. So long as you don't wrap it 3-10million times over (I usually give it two full wraps) and stretch it REALLY tight, it should be fine. I couldn't imagine how painters tape could hold like electrical tape can because of the elasticity. Whatever the case, I guess electrical tape and painters tape will suffice for the job.

I meant on the threads and as for the hoses DI-electric lube/grease works best...It will not rot the lines prematurely.

thanx guys finally got it to work, i just had to buy new fittings at the local auto store and now everything is working perfectROFL...one question though i set my fpr at 38 psi because i still have the stock injectors, but i do have a 255 fuel pump..is it a good at 38 or should i still raise it to 43?
