I just picked up a 1g bov to recirculate and all that.
It has been crushed already however I fear my target psi of above 25psi is going to make it leak.
Ive read about how there is a passage that gives pressure from the IC pipe back into the bov to make it vent/respond easier/quicker. Ive also read how you can block that off, drill it, and vent it to the atmosphere to make the bov hold more psi.

Im wondering if this will hurt the bov's functioning under normal driving, ive heard it might make compressor surge or something along those lines.

Thanks for your help.

I run a both of these mods and have never had issues with surge. Note that eliminating the lower UIP source on the BOV defeats the "quick release" action of the BOV. I think the majority of those that have surge issues with modified BOVs is because their BOV is too close to their Throttle Body. So by the time the BOV opens, the pressure wave has already passed it.

Dejon Powerhouse has product that defeats the "quick release" under boost but under vac enables it so that you have the best of both worlds.

VFAQ :dsm:

John, thank you for the detailed response and link to the vfaq.
I have a buschur fmic on my dsm and my bov will be about a foot or less down from the TB so i can vent directly into my injen 2g intake pipe. I think im going to tap the holes just incase I do get compressor surge, I can easily return it to stock operation.

once again good response and good write up!
