Look on the cam gear side. I believe the 95 and 96 CAS are on the cam gear itself but im not sure if the 97-99 have it there.

you see, the thing is.. you can swap CAS on these cars.. Im pretty sure I have seen people do it.. which means that the cas can only go in one place.. on the left side of the head... again, are there any wires hooked up to it?

If your taking yours off you have to remove the 3 bolts to get to the bolt that is behind it then remove teh 2 bolts and you can take it off. But if you are just wanting to know what it is. Then it is the whole thing.

I took the one off my 99 gsx. My question is, the metal ring on the inside does that have to be a certain way when you put it back in? Well i installed it in my 97gst(the one with the problem) and still doing the same thing?? SO i did: plugs, wires, comp test, coilpack,CAs, would could this be. its code p0300

its doing this:

Well guys i really need your help. This where i am at. I used my 99 cas and still does nothing, the car wont even start now. I did find this orange wire hanging. What is this? Goes from ecu then the other end it must of fell off. And my other question is how do i test the coilpack and cas, in ohms or volts??

you test the sensors in OHMS... thats it.. you are checking for resistance...

check your haynes or chilton, or whatever manual you use.. and look in there for what pins to test and what the ohms should read... if the ohms are not what the book says, then they are bad...

did you check for the spark like I said? you know, with the other CAS.. pull the plug out and put it in the plug wire and lay it on the valve cover.. have someone crank the car and see if there is spark... just start testing the plugs, then work your way back... it really sounds like your CAS went out... but who knows, right?

Just check you manual for the OHMS it should be at.. DO NOT put voltage through a sensor, cause you just may fry the hell out of it...

Heres a better pic, what is the clutch wire for. Wouldnt cause it not to start right? I checked the cas in ohms and got 1.00. And i tried to check the coilpack but i dont know how, i tried 4 and 1 in ohms and got nothing.

Those pics really don't help much as its still to hard to see where the wire goes into the ecu harness. Just refer to the link I posted above & you should be able to tell exactly what pin its connected too. That diagram is the pin numbers referenced the way you would be looking at the connectors while their still plugged into the ecu (ie looking at the back of the connectors).

From what I can see in your pics (though had to tell) it looks like the orange wire your refering too is connected to a white wire that is the 5th one in from the left on the top row. If this is where the wire is connected, that would be pin 75 on the diagram I posted, which would be your rear O2 sensor. Do you have a wideband hooked up for datalogging?

I really want to apologize for high jacking this post but, i'm doing my engine rebuild on a 97. Though, I got a hell of a deal on a 95 head. When I put this on to my block, how am I going to be hooking everything up, CAS wise that is? I'm tryingt to go through it in my head, are the connectors the same and the sensors are in different locations? Would I just put the one that is on the head now, 97, to the 95 head? Let me know fellas, thanks!!!
