Where to get "cotter pin" that goes through wg act rod

i lost the cotter pin or whatever it's called that goes through the wastegate actuator rod to attach the rod to the exhaust housing of the turbo. people are telling me to go to napa and get one, but i don't know what it's called, nor do i have a spare to part match with. i do have one on my evo3 16g that's coming off the car this weekend. are they the same? and will i be able to transfer the pin from the 16g to my new pte turbo?

dude.. its just a cotter pin.. everyone always wants to get hella expensive parts for stupid things like this... just go to your local hardaware store, and find a cotter pin or some type of locking pin that fits in there.. its not exactly a scientific device.. its just a metal pin... trust me... I broke mine, and just replaced it with a bog old safety pin once and never had a problem.. ... but just get a metal pin that you can bend or one that locks and slap that puppy on there

Yeah I forget what size I used when mine broke I bought a kit with different sizes. Just used a regular old generic cotter pin, no problems here.

ok thanks for the suggestions...i was curious because it has more bends then a cotter pin...guess i'll try the pin off my evo3 when it comes off this weekend!!

Stick a paper clip through it. Problem solved.

Cotter pin will do the trick, and they're cheaper than the 6-10 dollar replacement from satan.

Mine broke off when i was changine waste gates, I just stuck a safety pin through there...never had a problem with it!

Like everyone said just go get a cotter pin I had the same issues back in the day and voila cotter pin saved my day.
