Quick Lower Front Cover question

I'm assembling my new 6bolt block and don't have the lower front cover gasket. Will some sort of hi-temp rtv suffice, or is the specific gasket a "must have"? Thanks in advance.

i would HIGHLY recommend using the gasket. it's a tight thin area with oil channels that you risk blocking from excess gasket maker. your local parts store should have a front case gasket set for about 20 bucks it's in your best interest to not use the gasket maker and to use the proper part "the gasket"
