I just though I would share a pictures with you guys. I bought this clutch off of ebay for about $150 a while back. It lasted me a little bit under 15,000 miles than the Throw out bearing decided to take a dump on me.

Make the pics under 700x700 first.

Second of all, did you use an ACT throw out bearing? If so, thats not eBays fault, thats your fault.

First of all that pic is 640x480 pixels I did resize it before I posted. Second of all I did not say it was an ACT clutch. Don't bother posting if your just going to waste space and offer nothing informative.

Stage 3 from EZClutch and yes the throw out bearing did come with it. I put just under 15,000mi on it and it was just about down to the rivets when I pulled it.

Easy killer, I wasnt attacking you.

I assumed since you were asking for a 2600 that that was an ACT you bought used on eBay.

But using a eBay throw out bearing is even worse than using an ACT throw out bearing.

Not trying to be an ass, but everyone knows to use an OEM throw out bearing.

Good luck :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

the bearing they give you is just no good you need OEM. And just to put in a little info if you are not making over 500hp you dont want or need a 2600 just go with a 2100 with a 6-puck sprung. I have seen too many 2600s not work properly. But i have never had a bad 2100 experiance. Just my advice.

I have a 2600 and I love it. I would also suggest going with the street disc. A.C.T. clutches are hard to find cheap. I bought mine from a vendor on ebay, still was around $400.

+1 with the factory TOB, I had a bad experience as well. Didn't make even 1000 miles before I had problems. It also helps to not push in the clutch while starting to ensure the longest life out of the TOB. Maybe you knew that already, but I thought I would throw that out also.

this is making me worry now...i just put in my xtr stage 3 and i used their t/o bearing. Plus it just started to slip. Get what you pay for I guess.

see I was wondering about those Ebay clutches to! I might as well not mess with them and just pay the money so it will not F up on me! Can Autozone's brand Duralast handle 320hp LOL? im serious i need to stock up on a clutch just in case!

I had to put an Autozone clutch in mine when it went out the first time. After about a week anything over like half throttle in 3rd, 4TH, AND 5TH it would just let go. That was with only minor bolt on's at that time. So no I would not recomend anything from Autozone. Trust me I used to be a Store Manager there. Also they will not honor they're warranty when it goes bad not even for an employee. Spend a little more money the first time and have the piece of mind knowing you bought a quality part.:dsm:

your right even though I worked there to I just left there to do satellite installation and they paying me some good cash to so I can actually afford to mod my car! I hated being a CSR over there though!

It really just depends on the district manager. At any store in Omaha, they'll replace anything NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Go through a set of pads in a week? Warranty swap. Battery die because of a bad alt? Warranty swap.

I was at about 40k a year as a store manager I left and now make almost 50k just working wholesale at a toyota dealership not being a manager. You are right about the DM's though mine was an A$$.

Well I need to come there cause i have some CV axles that I ran on my car for a not a month, car went down and I pulled them out cause I was gonna part it out but im keeping it and I had it sitting out and they don't wanna take them back and it has a lifetime warranty!

Its getting time for me to be getting a new clutch, so no matter what use an OEM TOB??? and i was looking into getting the act 2600 with street disc i am looking at making 300-400hp in the near future is that a good choice in clutch??? if not any recommendations

Act actually revised their throwout bearing to be more like the oem throwout bearing, it isn't metal anymore like it used to be. I may be wrong but that is what came with my act 2900 that i just bought a few months ago.

Damnit. I think the same clutch is sitting in my new engine 1,400 miles away. I believe the mechanic installed the TOB that came with the clutch. I don't know much about the whole drive train area. How hard would it be to replace the TOB with an OEM TOB?

Changing the TOB only takes about 2 min, but first you have to remove the trans to do it :toobad:

Try 2 hours to 2 months, depending on your ability, FREE TIME, and work space. One things for sure though; its not super hard if your familiar with that area of your vehicle and have the tools/manual. But, if you do take it on; Please... spend the time and money to do it right. Don't waist your time putting half life (49% life left=replace it) parts back in! At the very lest get a new friction disk and inspect the fly wheel/ pressure plate, well.

If you have a hoist, I'd just pull the engine instead of trying to drop the tranny with out a shop lift. That way you can really clean things up, do that balance shaft removal you'll been thinking about, and what ever else comes to mind.

Remember, most the effort that goes into clutch work is time. Its a time intensive task, not a real expensive one. If your doing the work yourself don't be a cheep ass. We're probably talking a difference of $100 between a good clutch and a bad one. Or a great clutch and a good one. Especially if your doing the work yourself; your already saving a load of cash on labor; so you should have plenty of money left to get the rite clutch the first time... not the second, or god forbid, the third.

Are the clutches on Ebay good for anything? I dont wanna make the same kind of mistake!

No, do not buy one. The only reason I bought one was I was low on money after having to pay the shop for labor. Now I'm just kicking myself. Do not buy an eBay clutch!

Thanks for the info on the TOB.
