in my white 90 talon tsi awd 5sp, i launched it from 5 and a half and messed up my tranny
it went into gear, but was locking up bad, not moving, grinding and knocking really loud
is it gone forever or could a rebuild fix it like shep stage 1 for instance???
thanx:talon:

Does your clutch pedal still have pressure? You may have shattered something inside the tranny. If I were you, I would look for a stock rebuild or if you have money go to stage 1 like you said. But, most of the guys out there will do a stock rebuild for pretty cheap.

depends on the damage. If you have a high HP car, I would just spend the money and get a shep stage 3 or 4 rebuild. If it just has bolt ons, just buy another one in good condition.

AWD_Boosted4g63- If you are just trying to get the car back on the road, just get a basic rebuild. If you are planning on using your 50trim and have the money, look for upgraded internals for the tranny. There are a lot of people out there that can tell you what you may need, depending on your goals and budget. TRE, Shep are just a couple of names. Check them out 1st.

Good point defiant. AWD_Boosted4g63- Did you happen to look under the car after that incident? Did you happen to notice fluid leaking out from under you transmission or transfer case? I have had my transfer case go out before and didn't figure that one out until a few days later. My car was still drivable. But, it didn't sound all that great for the 1st few days.

Does your car go into or out of all the gears?

the shifter would go into gears and the clutch pedal still had pressure, but it wouldn't move it was locked up, took it to a trans shop today to see what they say, i considered shep, but i dunno thanks for your concern, time, and effort:thumb: :talon:
they'll let me know what is wrong on monday

I had the same problem with my gsx. What happened was from launching it it snap the bolt on the bell housing for the tranny and every time I would press the clutch the tranny would split from the block.
