hey guys,im having this weird problem with my shit cables.
one shift cable (which moves by moving shift stick back and forwards) are popping out of the bracket.I found out that the rubber thing ,that goes into the round ring on the end of the shift cable is worn out.does someone selling that rubber thing,or i need to get the new shift cable???

You can get replacements for the bushings. If one is bad already, I'd recommend upgrading both of them. You can either use skateboard wheel bearings or buy ones (these are the ones I have - http://www.speed-source.net/products/shifter_cable.htm). You do not need new cables.

Here's one thread on the bushings - http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124083&highlight=shifter+cable+bushings

Just search for shifter bushings and look through them (includes threads about the shifter base bushings near the shifter itself...also a great upgrade).

thanks man i really appreciate that ;) +1 rep point :D
BTW are you going to dsm shootout in E-Town Track???

well tomorrow im gonna go to ExtremePsi .i saw they got the Precision Bearing Shifter Cable Bushings for 20 bucks.Plus i got a Sybroski shifter kit. Thanks alot guys ,i got a really good help on this one ;) dsm shootout in just couple of weeks ,so i got to make this thing work again :D

You made a good decision getting the Symborski kit...I could never drive another DSM without one!!! :thumb:

No, I won't be able to make the E-town Shootout.

I think the symborski shift kit is overrated. my bushings weren't bad to begin with but I had to see what they hype is all about. it was loud and made the shifter clunky. I prefer the stock or urethane. it shifts smoother than the symborski does.

That is really odd. I've never heard of someone upgrading them and not liking it. Especially the noise - that's something I've never heard. Well, at least you know for next time.
