I burned out my ACT 2100. Since you can buy ACT discs and PP's separately I am wondering if this is worth holding on to/selling for cheap or is the damage to severe for it to be of any use? There is discoloration consistent with heat damage as well as some surface irregularities which you can see (can be barely felt when I run my finger over it). I suspect that it is worthless now but wasn't sure if it can be machined or even if it would be worth it.

if that were my pressure plate i'd be replacing it, just to ensure i get maximum grip (and so i don't have to take my transmission back off if i decide later that it really isn't right)

you can get just pressure plates ive seen them on extreme psi. just check that pressure plate for cracks, and see if it can be turned. whats the flywheel look like? no sence in speding money if you dont have too.

for some reason my micrometer isn't working on pictures

take it to a machine shop and see it it can be surfaced. if it can, fine. if it can't, scrap it

Is that just a coat of disc material glazing it, or is there burnt metal actually flaking off of it? Looks like the latter. Pretty nasty.
Either way, a machine shop can do a better inspection than we can by looking at a pic.

Thanks for the responses. I have already replaced my clutch with a 2600 so this is not under consideration for myself. I was wondering if it might be of any use to someone else or should I just consider making a wall clock out of it.:p

There is no metal flaking off and I don't think that this is glazing (but not certain). I think the metal itself just got damaged. As mentioned I can feel some slight surface defects (like ridges) when running my finger over it.

I personally wouldn't use it and I agree I don't hink it would hold up very much longer.
