I just put a 2.3 liter stroker in my car. it has about 100 miles on it.i know new motor rebuilds smoke a little unitl the rings set. when i step on the gas you can see alot of gray smoke comes out of my car. i also have a full 3" exhaust no cat on my car. even when starts up gray smoke comes out. i look in my intake theres oil.i changed the pcv valve cleaned tb,intercoller.car also make a whinning noise checked turbo theres a little shaft play side to side. i know the car is burning oil b/c you can smell it. any info or help would be great

Pull the spark plugs and take a look down the cylinder and see if there is any oil sitting on the pistons. I had a buddy that just did a 2.3 stroker about a month ago and the place that assembled the head for his messed it up. They used the wrong valve stem seals and he was actually dumping oil straight into the cylinders from his valves.

i pulled the plugs and i seen oil on top of the pistons, this morning i went to start my car and it is running like is has a miss fire so i am thinking one of the plugs are fouled. i cleaned them off and still runs like it has a misfire but it seems to get worse under boost.any other ideas on this problem thanks for the info. will the car stop smoking it only has 100 miles on it or should i replace the seals around the valves? thanks for the info

Do you have oil sitting on every piston? If that's the case, then You're most likely going to have to pull the head off of it and have the valve stem seals checked, becuz that is that exact same problem my buddy had. The smoking should have already stopped by 100 miles. I would say time to check the head, check the intake valves for oil on top of them, but it definitely sounds like you'll need new valve stem seals.

there was oil on the all four piston so i will go ahead and replace the valve stem seals. thanks again for your help. i will let you know how it works out:thumb:

Hey mjb, what was the resolution if any?
My Talon is in the exact same boat, I found oil in the #3 exhaust port but it's literally pouring down the valves and pooling. I suspect stem seals but am in the middle of the requisite "Search" mode right now.
Thanks for any info!

is the car going thru alot of oil? my buddy put rings in upside down a few years ago and had the same problem
