I am in middle of swapping in a new 6 bolt with a 2g head in a '95 gsx. I am very confused about the crank angle sensor and the cam angle sensor. What do I need to do since I am still using a 2g head? Any info. regarding the trigger plate would be usefull also.

Also, I have a '93 laser as a parts car. Could I use the oil pan, oil pickup, or oil filter housing from this for my swap. I know the laser is a 7 bolt so I doubt it, but I am unsure of all the differences from 1ga to 1gb. Thanks, and sorry I am a retard. :beatentodeath:

By the way, I have too many cars and I am selling the one the post it about, so please give me the most cost effective solutions.

If you are using a 2g head with a 6 bolt, you have 2 options.

You can leave the OEM cam angle sensor in place and put the OEM trigger plate back (the 7 bolt looks like a bowtie with a notch in it) and use the OEM crank angle sensor.

-or-

Go to RRE's website and look at the "2g in a 1g" and use the 1g CAS (both crank and cam sensors are containted). You will have to use the circular crank plate for the 6 bolt crank now.

Okay, I am still confused. Keeping the cam sensor the same makes sense, because it is still the same head. Are you saying that if I install the 2g trigger plate onto the 6 bolt block, I can use the 2g crank sensor? If so, this seems like my best bet, but I feel like I have to be missing something.

Also, I found out that there is nothing off of my '93 laser that I could use, (oil pan, filter housing, or oil pickup) so no need to respond about that.
