I have a loud constant buzzing/tapping from the sensor under my throttle body. What sensor is this and what does it do?

Could this be lenked to my problem in this thread:

Can I swap it with the sensor from a n/t motor?
This is the connector located under the throttle body on 92 laser rs motor.

That's Your FIAV - Fast Idle Air Valve. It's a motor, that opens and closes when the car needs to bump up idle.

That's basically what bumps up the idle when you turn your A/C on or use your power steering @ Idle... etc.

It doesn't look to be linked to your other problem on the other thread. MAKE SURE that those gaskets are sealed correctly - the white smoke might the coolant that passes through the throttle body. Check your gaskets and do a boost leak test.

The FIAV is something different, the FIAV is internal to the throttle body and uses the wax pellet to raise the idle when the engine is cold.

You are talking about the ISC(idle speed control) motor.
