ok this is the second time i ordered a downpipe from ebay and its for the fwd cars. can someone please let me know which one should i buy from ebay for my awd or what would be the best vendor for one cause im sick of all these people lying on ebay on their ads for the dowpipes...any suggetsion would help thanx

Yes, I agree, how much are you paying for it? With the money you have just spent you could have gone out and bought a good downpipe that was specifically for your all wheel drive.

Good Tip.
I have a RRE DP and its great. Get the Short system and then you can decide to go catless if you want or go with a high flow cat. Plus RRE knows what they are doing so its a high quality piece.

there is nothing wrong with the EBAY downpipes and catbacks, at least for the 2g FWDs. those are nearly perfect.

Unfortunately we cannot say the same for the 2g AWDs. The xtune 3" catback for 2g AWD is a mediocore compared to the ebay 2g FWD ones.

I don't know what auctions you are bidding on, but most sellers I've seen are pretty specific if its for AWD or FWD.

The 2g AWD downpipe is nice and straight, hardly any bends, the 2g FWD has a bend.

My mod list is barely a couple months old and everything was purchased from Ebay, I just happen to purchase legit stuff from there. Most are brand new and are way cheaper than if they were purchased from a supporting vendor.

You can get a Apexi' N1 or GT downpipe for roughly $150 shipped from Ebay, that's where I got mine.

Yea thats fine and dandy, we've all heard it all before. unfortunately with a lot of success of ebay parts as of late, the you get what you pay for statement has been easily stomped on by several ebay parts.

i myself have been a hypocrite with that, and so many others too.

All well and true, but when you are trying to make some real power are these parts going to be as efficient as some of your other options. There are plenty of tests of ebay parts that show that they are not nearly as efficient as there brand name counterparts. I have tested intercoolers, manifolds, and 02 housings off of ebay for both 1gs and evo's personally and everyone of these tests, have shown me that "you get what you pay for." i will never be convinced that some faceless company in another country will be as consistent and and have equal or better quality then a name brand company, that has not put in any time for research and development.


For applications where you are running minimal boost, these products might be ok, but for those who love big boost high horse power cars and are trying to get every ounce of power out of there setup, ebay is just not the answer.

Do you think that it will bolt onto the japan importshop cat back with out using the little adapter thing it came with?
I have that cat back sitting waiting to go on as well
