hey guys

i have 91 eagle talon stock of course. So far i have gutted the cat and added a k/n filter in the stock housing. so far i have been driving the car trouble free. till.... now

The valve cover had a crack in it where the bolts ore on the inside of the cover. so i replaced the cover along with a new gaskets and new plugs and wires and i also got new PCV valve from advance . (purolator brand).

I also cleans the unpper hoses and cleaned the TB for a high idle issue and general mant.

What i'm now having a problem with it all of a sudden smoking blue out of the tailpipe. It does not smoke at startup.it starts smoking after it has run for say 5-6 minutes. do the rings all of a sudden go in these motors or do i have a turbo issue. when i cleaned the TB out i didn't see any traces of oil. when i bought the car the guy told me it had a new turbo put on about a yr ago.

Take your intake pipe off from the inlet on the turbo, grab the shaft on the turbine and see if you have any movement, If it has excess movement its most likely your turbo that is going.

I took the intake pipe loose and notitced that there was some oil on the inlet side of the turbo like a film of oil the shaft don't seem to have very much play at all.

It has no more play than the turbo thats on the grandnational. so since it may be the turbo what is my next option for a turbo. i done a search about a 16g replacemant but when i looked at the vendors i found that there was three diffrent 16g's so which one is better for my car?
 
First thing first, get that Purolator PCV out of there and replace it with an OEM PCV, let's hope it hasn't done its damage already.

The smoking problem was there before i changed the pcv. I changed the pcv after i swapped out the valve cover and noticed it was smoking so i then replaced the pcv valve since i didn't know the conditon of it or the one that was in my original valve cover.


not to ask a stupid question here what damage could be done bt the pdv valve?
 
Check to see if there's oil in the pcv hose going to the intake pipe.


i'm actually running the car with out the pcv hooked up and it still smokes. I took some carb clean and sprayed done into the pcv vlave hose to make sure there was no oil in it.

My reason for disconnecting the pcv was because maybe there could be a crack in the balffing that keeps oil from reaching the pcv valve area and allowing it to suck some oil.

Also is the EVO 3 16G a bolt-on replacement for my set-up or is there something alse thats needed. i wanna know so i can order everything at once.

Also where is the best place to get that turbo? price,warranty etc..
