I just bought a 91 gst and I also bought an xs-power FMIC setup. I have read the how to's on this setup, but it just isn't working. No one has had to cut any pipes but it seems like im going to have to. The only time I got all the pipes together it didn't look to strong and the tire would hit the one pipe. I hacked the whole were the stock side mount came up, but it still doesnt line up, I also tried different throttle body elbows (1g,2g,dejon), but none of there made much of a difference. Some one please help me out. Here's the link to the exact setup.

There are results from the forum search. Lots of info in there. I have this kit on my car right now but ended up getting some custom short route piping so things flow and fit a lot better. Believe me the routing of this kit is ridiculous and is just better to spend some money to get better piping. The intercooler core though is very nice.

Thats all good info, but it has nothing about putting this kit on a 90-91, and I dont see anything that they did that I didnt do. Is there a possibility that they mabey made the pipe to long?

I know it takes a lot of moving around of the pipes to make it fit right but its still has really weird bends and is a tight fit everywhere. I dont know why a pipe would be hitting the tire though. Is it the hot pipe coming across the front of the intercooler or is it the cold pipe coming up that is touching? the only way i could think is to take some pictures of where its hitting and what u have setup already so we can see whats been done so far and to see the problem areas.

Hey guys thanks for the help It's all done now, all I need to do is do a boost leak test and then hook up my boost gauge so I can see. But we had to cut the uip and mess with some pipes and now it's good. Thanks

Damn that's a clean car. What size tires are you running? Even if they are stock you could be running a wheel with different backspacing causing your tire to hit the pipe.

I have the same kit, I'm sure there is enough pipe in the long section to cut it up and route it the short way.. I think I might do this.

I actually looked into this when I put this same kit on my car. Found out from some others on here that have tried it that if you do that with the piping they give you (the long section) its going to be hard and look crappy with the hot pipe going under/around the drivers side. I got some custom 90 couplers, j pipe, etc to fit short route...

do you have any pictures of this? I have been looking for images on how people did short route piping on this kit for a while now..

The following shows where the shop and I decided to go through the front frame to make it most efficient. With this way there are less piping but does have some hard bends. You can see it the picture that they welded a 90 degree bend then to a ~45 degree coupler and then piping to the j-pipe to turbo, etc...since i have a RRE UICP right now on the other side (cold side) , you could say, its long route. Works way better than the way it was on before and gives me a way better chance of not getting any boost leaks. Hope it helps.
