pulled the timing cover belt off put the alternator belt back on with the hamonic balancer left the ac belt off and ps belts off turned the car on i still get a knock on the side its louder at the top as if it was coming from the cam gears any ideas?

then it is your Hydrolic Timing Belt Tensioner. If it fails, it will allow your timing belt to have more slack causing things to hit and make that noise.


Oh yeah....don't rev yours up like I did mine. I could have easily jumped time and done alot more damage.

theres no slack in the belt... i thought it was the cover too and i removed it earlier a nd sounds the same the belt feels nice and tight
