Check engine light!!!!!

After installing my boost gauge the check engine light come on. Also the gauge reads vac 20hg and never go pass zero. Is that normal. I followed this website

If you left the boost solenoid unplugged it will through a CEL in the 2g's. Plug it back in and just set it to the side.

CEL stands for Check Engine Light. Do you know the CEL code/number? Do a search on vfaq. Think you can check by turning your key in the ignition from off to power a couple times (not starting the car though) and your CEL light will blink the code for you. If that doesn't work you can always go to a Kragen or some other auto shop and ask for them to check your CEL. If you have a logger (i.e., Pocketlogger) or know someone that has one you can use that to check your CEL. The CEL code/number will let you know why the check engine light is on.

If you want to meet a cool local DSM club you should check out www.sacramento-dsm.com I'm sure one of us can help you out at the meet or something. The Kragen places shouldn't charge you to check your CEL. If you don't mind traveling to Davis I can use my logger to check and clear your CEL for you. I'll be back in the Sac bay area this Thursday though.

thanks guys but the CEL is gone now, but now i'm not sure if the boost gauge is working right.

well, if your turbo is stock and you don’t have a boost controller, the gauge should read up to like 12 or 13 psi (not sure exactly) but there has to be some boost if you have a turbo... if it doesn’t show any, then its not hooked up right.
