start it up and the idle is really rough and the car will just die

Hows it going everyone? Im new to the forums and this is my first DSM I just got a 97 GST and it seems to run strong everything works great but once in a while i will start it up and the idle is really rough and the car will just die. So I figured out if i unplugged the Cam positioning sensor then plug it back in the car starts fine. Now my question is, is my problem just the sensor or is there something else wrong? Thanks

More than likely is it just a bad connection on that sensor. Do you still have the clips that are supposed to hold on the plug to the sensor? If so, be sure the plug is all the way down and that you cannot easily pull it off.

I've had dirt and other crap on the plugs and connectors of various things in my car that'll make it not have a smooth connect.
