Ecu ??????

I have a 97 GST Spyder (5speed). I just sent out my Ecu to some shop in florida to be remanufactured. i met a guy today that can sell me a ecu off a 97 GST (automatic) for pretty much dirt cheap. question is can i put an ecu from an automatic into my 5 speed. not sure if it is off a spyder or not either. will this matter? will it work to its full potential still? thanks fellas!

Yes, it will work as long as it's from a 2g turbo. Transmission type doesn't matter when you are talking about a 2g. 1g's are not interchangable because of the injector size difference.

The 2g turbo automatic and manual ECUs are the same. The automatic transmission has a seperate computer that controls itself.

well put that other ecu in today. and no problems fixed! man this thing is drivin me krazy! I'm out of idea on how to fix it. its boggin down under boost an at either half throttle or full. did plugs, wires, fuel filter, boost leak test. have had it to like 3 different shops and they all thought the ecu was bad. anyone have any other ideas?
