Hey guys, I just want to make sure that the problem lies to be my starter.

After a while I try to start the car like in the morning, as I turn the ignition I only hear the starter relays and the starter motor click. After many times of rapidly trying to turn it over it starts!

So in conclusion, cold starts=nothing. As I keep on trying it it starts or even hook up my battery charger to jump @ 200amps it will start.

Here's what I've done so far:
-Got new battery terminals
-Cleaned the terminals of the battery.
-Cleaned the Grounds comming away and from the starter.
-Tightned up the positve 12 volt connector on the solenoid of the starter.

So does it all point out to a bad starter? Could be the original because my car has 184,xxx on her. WTF

The solenoid may be getting weak, or the contacts are getting dirty that engage the starter motor. When the solenoid pulls the bendix gear into the flywheel, it will close the contacts and engage the starter motor itself. If you are up to it, take the two screws out holding the solenoid onto the main housing, and clean the back of the "plunger." Also clean the small rod inside the plunger's housing. Be sure to put the plastic tab on the end of the plunger between the fork when you put it back in, or you won't be able to get the solenoid back on.

Hmm how funny because I took this to a starter/alternator rebuild shop and he said that my type of starter doesn't have plunger contacts..but my problem does sound like the starter is about to go?

I did not realize you were a 2g, my mistake. Even still, I would not think they would be too different. I even checked my 1g starter to make sure I knew what I was talking about :p

What about the starter brushes? They could be worn down and may need to be replaced, that's what happened to my starter anyways. Tom.

It sounds like your starter is bad. Mine did the same thing when I bought my car. Sometimes it would start the 1st time, other times it would take 20 or more times before it would turn over. When it wouldn't turn over, it would just click. Finally it just stopped working all together. I replaced the starter and haven't had a problem since.

Has the battery been tested for capacitance? The battery is like a resivoir of electrons if it's capacity is only half full there is not enough electrons to engage starter. I have had brand new batteries that were bad. I would check this first before replacing starter

I think I forgot to mention, I switched out my old battery with another that I charged myself with a bigger CCA and CA rating.
