I have a 90 awd TSi with a 16g, fmic. 2.5 exhaust. currently running 18psi with a mbc. My car seems to be running really rich!!! Will installing a SAFC help if so what kind of numbers should I use based on my stock fuel systems?

18 PSI is high for no fuel mods, you should be running lean at 18 psi WOT.But I would start by checking for some boost leaks ,that would make for a rich condition at low to mid boost. I dont see a logger or wideband in you profile. I would get some bigger injectors , fuel pump and an FPR before runnning 18 psi

as far as i know my fuel system is stock which means i am running 450's. would an exhaust leak cause me to run rich?

A exaust leak before the 02 sensor would also cause a rich condition. U dont need an AFC if your running a stock fuel system. Check for boost leaks and exaust leaks fuel pressure, kinked fuel return line first .I would keep that boost down for now

A exaust leak before the 02 sensor would also cause a rich condition.

Leaks prior to the front O2 sensor cause a false lean condition because of the additional oxygen pulled into the exhaust from the leak. This causes the ECU to inject additional fuel, but only at idle and cruise which will cause your rich condition. I'm fighting a leaking DP right now pre-WBO2 that's showing me running 12.5:1 with a -31% correction on the SAFC (650's) and 6gph Meth. :toobad:

Spyder thanks for correcting me on the exaust leak before the 02 thats what i ment cant explain why i had it backwards must of had a long day REDTSI let us know how you made out

There is not way you are actually running rich. What is your WBo2 reading since you know you are rich??

Yea, there's definately a possbility. I used to blow my IC piping all the time back w/ my 16g and stock 450s (stock maf, ecu). I would run bloody rich at 20 psi of boost. Smoked like a diesel when it happened.

Considering a blown intercooler coupler is a huge boost leak, I'd check for boost leaks first.

did a boost leak test and the found a leak at the turbo outlet pipe. it wouldnt fill past 10psi. the bolts are tight. can i ut some type of RTV on the gasket to seal it up?

update on the leak. fixed the turbo outlet pipe leak now it leaks from the valve cover. how long should the system hold the pressure?
